[ TRUST.002 ] – ABOUT

Built because this industry earned the distrust

Knox Crawl Space exists because finding crawl space and radon help in East Tennessee meant choosing between scare-tactic sales visits and lead-gen sites that sold your number to five call centers. We thought the third option deserved to exist.

01 – WHAT WE ACTUALLY DO

Three jobs, done in public.

Publish the data

The state’s radon test results for 606 Tennessee zips and all 95 counties. Real local pricing with a calculator that shows its math. The licensing rules most homeowners have never been told. Sourced, dated, checkable.

Set the standard

Written rules for what an honest assessment contains, what a real quote itemizes, and how fast pros respond. Then we hold our network to them and teach you to hold everyone else to them too.

Run the network

Licensed, insured, vetted East Tennessee contractors: one per job, never a list-sale. The whole model, including who pays us, is here.

02 – WHY EAST TENNESSEE

This is a hometown problem set.

Knoxville is one of the few places in America where the geology, the housing stock, and the real-estate customs all point at the same patch of dirt: Ridge-and-Valley karst (cave-riddled limestone that leaks radon upward) making us an EPA Zone 1 radon region, a metro full of vented crawl spaces built for a climate that punishes them, and radon contingencies written into everyday home sales. National advice doesn’t fit here. The vents that work in Arizona feed the mold here, the basement radon guides miss how most of our houses are built, and the licensing rules change at the county line. Everything on this site is written for this place, from its data, on purpose.

03 – THE PEOPLE

Who’s behind it.

Knox Crawl Space is independently owned and operated from Knoxville. The research is done in-house against primary sources; the crawl space and radon work is done by licensed East Tennessee contractors we vet and stand behind. As founding partners come aboard, their names and license numbers get published here, and the certified professionals among them review the technical pages that carry their expertise.

[ AUTHORSHIP ] - WHO RESEARCHES THIS

Knox Crawl Space Research

Knoxville, Tennessee

Every page here is researched and maintained in-house against primary sources: Tennessee Department of Health radon test results for all 606 zip codes and 95 counties, current CDC county data, the EPA's radon zone map, Knox County licensing thresholds verified against the state registry, and pricing gathered from this market.

The crawl space and radon work itself is performed by licensed, insured East Tennessee contractors, the people who should be doing it. Our job is finding them, vetting them, and holding them to the written standards on this site. We don't bid on your job, which means we have no reason to talk you into a bigger scope than the one you need.

How we source, verify, and correct what we publish is documented on our editorial standards page, including a corrections address a human answers: corrections@knoxcrawlspace.com.
